Medicinal
Clay Bath Treatment for Health and Detoxification
by Lauana Lei
A few years ago I was diagnosed with heavy metal and chemical poisoning.
Among the many toxic substances in my body, mercury from my fillings in
my teeth was a major culprit. It was recommended that I have all my fillings
replaced – a major undertaking!
After undergoing live cell/dry cell analysis, I was told I needed a
minimum of twenty chelation treatments (a drip intravenous therapy). At
$100 a session (much more expensive today), that meant an additional $2000!
To confirm the diagnosis, I had a frozen sample of my blood sent to a special
laboratory in Colorado. The lab analysis showed a variety of poisons in
my body including DIOXIN, MERCURY, ALUMINUM, CADMIUM, ARSENIC, LEAD, CHLORINE
and COPPER. On a scale of 1 to 10 (ten being the most toxic), seven elements
registered 7 or more.
After searching and using a number of different programs and products,
I came across a unique kind of bentonite clay used in a bath to remove
chemicals and metals. I bathed in it for 20 minutes and was astonished
to find the solid clay remaining in the bottom of the tub had turned from
a light tan/grey color to a black, sticky, tar-like substance! Wearing
rubber gloves, I wrapped the toxic clay in crumpled newspaper and a heavy-duty
garbage bag. Amazed, I began sharing my experience with friends, and found
they were having similar experiences".
Lau'ana obtained a tissue mineral (hair) analysis after this bath. The
results showed no chemicals or metals present, other than a small
amount of aluminum. A few weeks later, she took another clay bath. The
clay came out the normal color, with only a few black flecks in it. She
knew without a doubt that the magical clay had done its work, saving her
health - and thousands of dollars!
Not just any clay will do. It is crucial to use "clean clay". There
are hundreds of bentonite clays and each one has different analyses and
uses. They range from health store brands such as AZTEC Healing Clay to
expensive green and rose clays, all having very different analysis and
purposes. Most clays, even many at health food stores, contain chemical
emulsifiers, defeating the whole purpose of the bath. Bentonite clays
can vary tremendously in their ability to pull out toxic metals and chemicals.
Specially
formulated clay baths have been shown to be able to literally pull
pollutants out like a magnet, getting rid of years of toxic accumulation
in just one bath. Detoxification symptoms are less than from internal chelation
methods, and results can happen much more quickly. These clay baths have
been scientifically proven to release toxic metals and chemicals from the
body, and they are so inexpensive that anyone can afford to take them.
A kit contains 6 lbs. of LL's Magnetic Clay (dry), a packet of herbs and
spices to mix completely with All of the clay; teas to drink after the
bath, and an
instruction
sheet. Each kit will do 4 to 10 baths, depending on the health condition.

What Comes In Each Kit?
A kit contains 6 lbs. of LL's Magnetic Clay (dry), a packet of herbs
and spices to mix completely with All of the clay; teas to drink after
the bath, and an instruction sheet. Each kit will do 4 to 10 baths, depending
on the health condition. We suggest starting with 1 cup mixed clay and
herbs in a tub bath or foot bath if you are in fair condition.
A Unique and Unusual Bentonite
LL's Magnetic Clay Baths use an unusual bentonite. Most clays on the
market, (even those in health food stores!) contain very high levels of
aluminum, some as much as 67% to 75%, and use chemical emulsifiers to enable
easier mixing. LL's Magnetic Clay contains less than .2 mg/L and uses no
chemical emulsifiers, because, after all, the last thing we want to do
is add more chemicals to our bodies!
As well, an imported volcanic ash is added along with synergistically
tested formulas of spices and herbs. The result is a number of fine detox
bath kits, each one specially formulated for the removal of specific metals
and chemicals.
Benefits of LL's Magnetic Clay Baths
- Is an untreated, unaltered product, used for thousands of years utilizing
the Earth's natural healing properties.
- Is safe and effective as an aid to detoxificati0on when used according
to bath instructions. One bath releases years of toxic environmental pollutants
that have been accumulating - out of your body and into the bathtub.
- Is inexpensive and does not require costly equipment. It can save
you hundreds of dollars and lots of time compared to chelation therapy
and other forms of environmental detoxification products.
- Baths can be taken in the privacy of your own home, with minimal inconvenience.
- Has been tested to show that metals and chemicals are removed through
the use of these special formulas.
Best Way to Use the Bath Kits
We have found that the best way to use the bath kits is to put up to
2 cups of clay (but not more than 21/2 cups) into the bathtub and then
run very hot water over the clay, as hot as it gets. Use a wire
whisk to stir the clay around and to help it dissolve. When you've got
about 3 inches of water in the tub and the clay is dissolved, start adding
cooler water until the water reaches the desired temperature.
The bath should neither be too hot nor too cool, but should be nice
and warm, as warm as is comfortable. Bathing time depends upon your condition,
but can be anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes. Don't
overdo it! If you stay in too long you may have what is known as
a cleansing reaction and experience fatigue,
headaches, muscle soreness, etc.
Sources of Metal and Chemical Toxicity
-
Mercury, besides leaking from teeth
fillings, is also found in fish, cosmetics, pesticides, paint and plastics.

pollution and pesticides, and salt.
-
Lead is found in dyes, gasoline, paint,
plumbing, pottery, insecticides, tobacco smoke, textiles and scrap metal.
-
Copper is found in supplements, hard
water, hot tubs and swimming pool chemicals, cookware, the birth control
pill and other estrogen medications, copper IUD's, and dental materials.
-
Nickel is found in dental crowns, and
jewellery.
-
Carbon Monoxide of course, comes from
auto exhaust, cigarette smoke and smog.
How
Toxins Affect Our Bodies
What
you take out of your body is just as important for your health as what
you put into it. With todays chemical laden food production techniques
and our sedentary, over indulgent lifestyles, our bodies are, more than
any generation before us, likely to be saturated with toxins that are ingested
from what we eat and drink and also generated by our own bodies. The role
of heavy metals and xenobiotics (pesticides, herbicides, and industrial
wastes) are responsible for a wide variety of adverse health effects. These
accumulating toxins are insidious and prevalent agents capable of interfering
with physiologic functions of all human systems. One cannot expect the
normal detoxification systems of the body to function optimally when these
substances are constantly present. There are more than 3,800 chemicals
in daily use, many of which make their way into our drinking water.
An environmental health specialist at Stirling University in Scotland,
Baillie-Hamilton details how toxins may be linked to dozens of serious
health problems, including immune system diseases, neurological disorders,
digestive disorders, hormonal imbalances, cardio-vascular diseases, cancer,
hyper-sensitivity, obesity, musculoskeletal disorders and childhood health
problems.
It is essential to drink plenty of pure water to
detoxify. Many health care professionals are encouraging patients to
undergo detoxification regimes. These programs encourage the body to unload
its stores of accumulated environmental toxins. As the body ingests foods,
water contributes in the breakdown and absorption of nutrients and is a
key element in the removal of wastes. During detoxification, wastes that
have been stored in adipose tissues are dumped into the bloodstream and
lymph, and then sent to the liver and kidneys for processing and elimination.
Here is where water’s fifth function, that of electronegative enhancer,
comes into play: by optimizing the natural space between red blood cells,
which reduces the risk of heart disease by helping to avoid clotting; and
by allowing the fat cell to detox by off-loading metabolic wastes and environmental
toxins into the bloodstream for elimination. This also assists in weight
loss and reduces water retention.
Chemicals and metals are stored in the soft tissues and organs of the
body, such as the liver and brain, in the central nervous system, the endocrine
system, and in every other major organ, as well as in the body at large.
As toxins build up, the liver cannot properly excrete them, and they get
stored in various parts of the body. This toxic overload has a huge
impact on the immune system, which starts to break down.
It can be safely assumed that toxic overload is one of the major causes
of immune system breakdown disorders and of virtually any illness today.
In other words, if you have an autoimmune disorder such as chronic fatigue
syndrome, irritable bowel syndrome, fibromyalgia, lupus, interstitial cystitis,
rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, allergies, or systemic candidiasis,
to name but a few, you can be sure that metal and/or chemical toxicity
is playing at least some role in your disorder. learn

Bentonite Clay: Protect Yourself from Pharmaceuticals
in Your Water
by Cheryl McCoy
Armed with the proper information, there’s no reason to fear the latest
news about toxins
and pharmaceutical drugs being found in your water. Not to say
that this news isn’t alarming. Measures must be taken to remove these
harmful substances from our eco-system. But until the day that dream
becomes a reality, you can protect yourself and your loved ones with calcium
bentonite clay. Taken internally, calcium bentonite
clay safely removes toxins from your system.
What’s all the uproar about?
A recent article in the Washington Post (Area
Tap Water Has Traces of Medicines) warned that trace amounts of 6 popular
prescription drugs had been found in the area’s drinking water, and that
these harmful substances could not be filtered out by most treatment systems.
The drugs found included antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, a disinfectant,
and even anti-seizure medication – all found in a water supply that serves
more than 1 million people. And this is not an isolated incident.
According to the article, “Pharmaceuticals, along with trace amounts of
caffeine, were found in the drinking water supplies of 24 of 28 metropolitan
areas tested.” Nationwide, the AP reported that researchers found
anti-depressants, antacids, synthetic hormones from birth control pills,
and many other human and animal medicines in the water. In San Francisco,
tests found a sex hormone. In New York, the water tested positive for heart
medicines and a prescription tranquilizer. The article states that scientists
do not know the health effects of long-term exposure to such drugs.
And while some scientist are saying there’s nothing to worry about, other’s
fear chronic exposure could alter immune responses or interfere with adolescents'
developing hormone systems. Although experts agree that aquatic life
are most at risk from exposure to the drugs in rivers and streams, researchers
are concerned about what they don't know about human health effects.
According to a CBS News article (Probe:
Pharmaceuticals in Drinking Water), there’s another issue: There's
evidence that adding chlorine,
a common process in conventional drinking water treatment plants, makes
some pharmaceuticals more toxic. The article went on to say that
even users of bottled water and home filtration systems don't necessarily
avoid exposure. Bottlers, some of which simply repackage tap water, do
not typically treat or test for pharmaceuticals, according to the industry's
main trade group. The same goes for the makers of home filtration systems.
For several decades, federal environmental officials and nonprofit
watchdog environmental groups have focused on regulated contaminants
- pesticides, lead, PCBs - which are present in higher concentrations and
clearly pose a health risk. However, some experts say medications
may pose a unique
danger
because, unlike most pollutants, they were crafted to act on the human
body. "These are chemicals that are designed to have very specific
effects at very low concentrations. That's what pharmaceuticals do. So
when they get out to the environment, it should not be a shock to people
that they have effects," says zoologist John Sumpter at Brunel University
in London, who has studied trace hormones, heart medicine and other drugs.
There is a safe and easy way to protect yourself from these horrifying
contaminants – calcium bentonite clay. According
to Michel Abeshera, author of The
Healing Clay, “Clay has a remarkable resistance to chemical agents…
as a bacteria-destroying agent it can render contaminated water innocuous.”
How does Bentonite clay work?
Bentonite clay carries a uniquely strong negative ionic charge which
causes it to ‘magnetically’ attract any substance with a positive ionic
charge (i.e., bacteria, toxins, metals, etc.). These substances are
both adsorbed (sticking to the outside like Velcro) and absorbed (drawn
inside) by the clay molecules. Your body doesn’t digest clay, so
the clay passes through your system, collecting the toxins, and removing
them as the clay is eliminated. It’s like a little internal vacuum
cleaner. In his book The Clay Cure, Ran Knishinsky states it this
way:
“The clay's immediate action upon the body is directly on the digestive
channel. This involves the clay actually binding with the toxic substances
and removing them from the body with the stool. It performs this
job with every kind of toxin, including those from the environment, such
as heavy metals, and those that occur naturally as by-products of the body's
own health processes, such as metabolic toxins. It's hard to believe
that the body produces its own toxins, but that may happen as a result
of stress, inefficient metabolism, or the proliferation of free radicals.
The body has no problem ridding itself of the clay. Don't worry about
a tiny brick house being built in the middle of your colon. The clay
assists the body's eliminatory process by acting as a bulking agent, similar
to psyllium fiber, sweeping out the old matter that doesn't need to be
there. It is not digested in the same manner as food as it passes
through the alimentary canal. Instead, it stimulates intestinal peristalsis,
the muscular contractions that move food and stool through the bowels.
The clay and the adsorbed toxins are both eliminated together; this keeps
the toxins from being reabsorbed into the bloodstream. Clay works
on the entire organism. No one part of the body is left untouched
by its healing energies. I don't know of another supplement that
is quite as capable as clay of producing such a wide range of positive
reactions."

How do we use the Bentonite clay?
In this day and age, there’s virtually no way to isolate yourself from
the toxins that surround us. In our air, in our food, in the ground
beneath our feet,
and
obviously now in our water, the contaminants abound. However, with
Bentonite clay, you can keep yourself healthy and vibrant.
Perry A~, author of Living Clay: Nature’s Own Miracle Cure, suggests
the following protocol to keep yourself internally cleansed. First,
clay must be taken internally. You can either eat hydrated clay ‘paste’
or drink liquefied clay. A good Bentonite clay will be very smooth
and creamy and have virtually no taste. One to two tablespoons of
hydrated clay daily is the recommend amount for adults. If you’re
drinking liquefied clay, start with one to two ounces twice a day made
with 1 part of dry powder calcium Bentonite clay to 8 parts of water.
Perry A~ also recommends taking clay baths twice
a week. Clay baths help keep your body cleansed by pulling toxins
through the pores. To prepare a clay bath, scatter about 2 cups of
Bentonite clay powder into the bath water as it’s running, and use your
hands to swish away any lumps that might form. Or you can simply
add 4 cups or more of liquefied Bentonite clay to your bath. A clay
bath should last ideally between 15-20 minutes in extremely hot water and
longer in a less hot bath. Submerge as much of your body as possible
during the bath. The more clay that is used in the therapy, the more
powerful the response.
Which clay should we use?
According to Jason Eaton (www.EytonsEarth.org) the best healing clay
is a natural clay that has not been processed (heated or bleached).
The ‘cleaning’ process removes many of the healing qualities of the clay.
You want a raw, clean, natural, swelling clay (one that expands when mixed
with water). Perry A~ recommends using natural calcium Bentonite
clay due to its high pH and uniquely strong adsorption and absorption abilities.
It’s best to choose a fine-milled clay, preferably one milled to 325 mesh.
This ensures that once the clay is hydrated or liquefied, it will not be
gritty. Also, when choosing a company from which to purchase your
clay, make certain they can provide a chemical analysis of their clay,
along with lab testing to prove its purity. If they can’t or won’t
provide such documents, you should look elsewhere.

Zoltan P. Rona M.D. - "During nearly 19 years of clinical
practice I have had the opportunity to observe the health effects of drinking
different types of water. Most of you would agree that drinking unfiltered
tap water could be hazardous to your health because of things like parasites,
chlorine,
fluoride
and dioxins. Many health fanatics, however, are often surprised to hear
me say that drinking distilled water
or purified water on a regular, daily basis is potentially dangerous."
Tap water in 42 states is contaminated with more than 140 unregulated chemicals
that lack safety standards, according to the Environmental Working Group's
(EWG's) two-and-a-half year investigation of water suppliers' tests of
the treated tap water served to communities across the country. In an analysis
of more than 22 million tap water quality tests, most of which were required
under the federal Safe Drinking Water Act, EWG found that water suppliers
across the U.S. detected 260 contaminants in water served to the public.
One hundred forty-one (141) of these detected chemicals — more than half
— are unregulated; public health officials have not set safety standards
for these chemicals, even though millions drink them every day. Each
year, bottled water sales grow about eight to 10 percent. In 2005, bottled
water sales surpassed milk, beer, juices — everything but carbonated soft
drinks. Home purification systems are becoming more common.

Preventing
Chemical Foodborne Illness
Chemical hazards refer to four different agents
that are sources of potential foodborne illness. The agents are metals,
pesticides, intentional food additives and other chemical residues. The
residues from these agents, if consumed in a large enough dose, can be
harmful to humans. Although biological hazards pose the greatest potential
risk to the food supply, an understanding and knowledge of chemical residues
is important for all individuals, whether they are agricultural producers,
food processors/handlers or consumers. This publication is intended as
a resource for understanding and preventing chemical foodborne illness.
Chemical foodborne illness is called chemical
poisoning. Some of the known chemical agents involved in chemical foodborne
illness are beneficial and essential in the diet as nutrients, others serve
to preserve food or improve eating quality, while others are beneficial
in food production or to assure a clean and sanitary food handling environment.
Examples of beneficial chemicals (Table 1) are
some of the metals and vitamins (nutrients), nitrite (a preservative),
monosodium glutamate (a flavor enhancer), pesticides (for insect, weed
and rodent control) and cleaners (for environmental hygiene). Illness or
chemical poisoning occurs when abnormally high levels (dosages) of the
beneficial chemicals contaminate food. Other chemicals, as in the case
of poisonous plants or animals, are strictly recognized as harmful.
The route of entry for many of the chemicals into
the food supply can occur in the home, retail markets, wholesale markets,
distribution warehouses, restaurants, transportation systems or food processing
plants, on the farm, or the chemicals can be naturally present in the food.
Chemical foodborne illness is normally the result of a human error that
could have been prevented. The symptoms of each illness and onset time
are different among the six basic agents. Knowledge of specific agents,
sources, symptoms and onset times is important to better ensure control
and prevention. These are discussed in the following sections. more
The following is a list of the most common disorders found by research
studies to be causally linked to toxic metals and chemicals:
Attention
Deficit Disorder , Alzheimer's Disease, Asthma,
Arthritis, Autism
and Autistic Spectrum Disorders
Auto-immune Disorders, Candidiasis,Chronic
Fatigue Syndrome ,Epilepsy, Gulf War Syndrome, Heart
diseases, Hypertension, Infertility,
Kidney disease, Liver disease, Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS),Multiple Sclerosis,
, Parkinson's Disease, and Schizophrenia.
There are now over sixty five thousand hazardous chemicals being
used in commercial production in the United States, with new chemicals
being tested in the U.S. at a rate of more than 6,000 per week. I believe
that future generations will look back on our times with a mixture of shock
and amazement, at how we seem to have abandoned all common sense in favor
of these "high technology breakthroughs". It's time to detoxify...You will
feel better, live longer, and be healthier!

The
Clay Cure by Ran Knishinsky
"Naturally absorbent and extremely gentle on the system, clay can treat
ailments affecting digestion, circulation, menstruation, and the liver,
skin, and prostate. Clay also remedies symptoms of arthritis, chronic fatigue
syndrome, gum diseases, and migraines. The Clay Cure contains complete
and up-to-date information on choosing the appropriate type and form of
clay, how and when to take it for your specific complaint, the science
and history of ingesting clay, and the value of minerals contained in the
many varieties of clay. "
Ran Knishinsky says that he eats clay everyday, that it is part of his
diet. He never skip a day without eating clay. On page 95 suggests
the following : infants: 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon (in a bottle), Small frame:
one teaspoon, Medium frame: one heaping teaspoon, Large frame: one tablespoon.
Clay provides an impressive assortment of minerals, including calcium,
iron, magnesium, potassium, sulfur, manganese, and silica as well as trace
elements—those appearing in very tiny amounts. Without the basic minerals,
life cannot exist; without the trace minerals, major deficiencies will
develop. The lack of either will make it impossible for the body to maintain
good health.
