The
Prime Cause of Cancer is Not Genetic
"...What is shocking to most people, the scientific fact that
cancer is genetically recessive, not dominant. In fact, the human body
is highly resistant to cancer. In 1969, Professor Henry Harris of Oxford
University shook the cancer research community to its core when he proved
these previous theories wrong. Professor Harris took normal tissue cells
and fused three types of cancer cells to them. Surely, he thought, the
cancer cells would take over the normal cells and "convert" them into cancer.
Surprisingly, they grew normally.
Contrary to popular opinion, cancer takes several decades to develop
in humans. Given this long incubation period, science can show us
the way to destroy any initial pre-cancerous cells and keep the cancerous
ones from causing widespread damage.If you think cancer has a genetic basis,
then think again. Dr Robert A. Weinberg of Massachusetts Institute of Technology
(MIT), one of the world's leading cancer researchers and discoverer of
the so-called oncogene (cancer-causing gene), reversed his previous conclusions
after discovering that "fewer than one DNA base in a million appears to
have been miscopied". It's not enough of a defect! His exact words: "Something
was very wrong. The notion that a cancer developed through the successive
activation of a series of oncogenes had lost its link to reality." He called
the genetic discoveries made thus far "sterile".6 The prime cause of cancer
is therefore not genetic. This was announced in 1998. Did you hear about
it? Probably not.
In 2006, the heads of the world's largest cancer research centre in
Houston, Texas, announced that cancer's prime cause isn't genetic: "'If
it could have happened [solving cancer with genetics], it would have already
happened with genetic mutations,' said William Brinkley, a senior vice-president
at Baylor who says other research should take precedence over the cancer
genome project. Dr John Mendelsohn [president of M. D. Anderson Cancer
Center] states, 'Any claims that this [genetic research] is going to be
the key to curing cancer are not appropriate.'" Thus, the prime cause of
cancer is not a genetic mutation. Even if cancer "runs in your family",
there is real hope. Unfortunately, the geneticists have it backwards, attempting
to force the facts to fit their genetics-based theories when they don't
fit the facts, because, as Professor Harris demonstrated many years ago,
cancer isn't genetically dominant. Where does this leave us? Where can
we look for solutions? What about the popular nutritional solutions to
fighting cancer?

of surface receptors, virus-infected and tumor cells - it also affirms
a potential strategic change in bone marrow or stem cell donor matching.

A study, published in the journal Pancreas, found that mice treated
with pancreatic enzymes survived significantly longer than those that did
not. Tumor growth in the enzyme-treated group was also significantly slower.
Five years ago, a pilot study of human cancer patients by one of the study
authors, Nicholas
Gonzalez, M.D., was published in the journal Nutrition and Cancer.
Gonzalez later received a $1.4 million federal grant for a Phase III prospective
clinical trial involving enzymes for pancreatic cancer. This multi-year
study is ongoing. Confronting
Pancreatic Cancer
 According
to Dr. William Donald Kelley, D.D.S., M.S. in his book, "One
Answer To Cancer," at least 86% of all cancer conditions could be adequately
treated and/or prevented by diet and pancreatic enzymes. He further
states that cancer is a symptom of inadequate and deficient protein metabolism.
Early in the 20th century, Dr. John Beard of the University of Edinburgh,
discovered that the body’s primary mechanism for destroying cancer is contained
in pancreatin, a secretion from the pancreas that, among other things,
includes enzymes for digesting protein. Enzymes digest or liquefy foods
for absorption by the body. The use of large doses of pancreatic
enzymes containing Pancreatin, Trypsin, Chymotripsin, Papain, and
Bromelain is undergoing a 5-year phase III clinical trial in the USA.
This is called Gonzalez Regimen, after Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez, MD, of New
York [who based his work on the research of John Beard and William Donald
Kelley, see further down]. The trial is being funded and conducted by the
National Cancer Institute of USA. The funding decision was based on the
results of a 1993 pilot study in which patients lived an average seventeen
(17) and a half (1/2) months – nearly triple of what is expected for most
patients with advanced pancreatic cancer.

It is generally accepted that a higher magnesium intake in the drinking
water is associated with reduced cancer incidence and reduced frequency
of cardiac infarction. Information is scarce about the relationship between
cancer and magnesium but researchers from the School of Public Health at
the University of Minnesota have just concluded that diets rich in magnesium
reduced the occurrence of colon cancer. A previous study from Sweden
reported that women with the highest magnesium intake had a 40 per cent
lower risk of developing the cancer than those with the lowest intake of
the mineral. Preliminary data also suggests a relationship between
low intake of magnesium and kidney cancer. The School of Public Health
at the Kaohsiung Medical College in, Taiwan, found that magnesium also
exerts a protective effect against gastric cancer. more
Mouth cancer is one disorder that may be treated
or prevented by phytochemicals, especially beta-carotene, which is found

down. The AMA, NCI, and FDA organized a "conspiracy" to "suppress" a fair,
unbiased assessment of Hoxsey's methods, according to a 1953 federalreport
to Congress. Hoxsey's Dallas clinic closed its doors in 1960, and three
years later, at Hoxsey'srequest, Mildred Nelson, R.N., his long-time chief

Fish Oils and Cancer
Fish oils improve
survival of cancer patients - Professor Hans Krokan
at the research laboratory UNIGEN in Trondheim, Norway, has shown that
the so-called Omega 3 fatty acids (EFA) kills certain types of cancer
cells. Krokan believes that in a few years cancer can be treated using
special fish
oil concentrates, in conjunction with, for example, radiation treatments.
Other scientists have observed similar results. In the 1960s, chemistry
professor Olav Notevarp at NTH had published results that pointed in the
same direction.
Omega 3 fatty acids are found in fish, marine
mammals and cod-liver oil. Both laboratory and animal tests have shown
that the introduction of refined Omega 3 fatty acids decimates certain
types of cancer cells. Some types are completely destroyed while others
don´t react at all to the substances in the fish
oil.
Chemotherapy and other conventional
medical treatments have proven ineffective in improving quality of life
and survival of patients with end stage cancer. Now Greek medical researchers
report that fish oil supplementation markedly increases the survival time
for cancer patients with generalized malignancy. Their study involved 60
patients with generalized solid tumors. The patients were divided into
two groups with one group receiving 18 grams/day of fish oil (six capsules
of MAXEPA three times daily containing 170 mg eicosapentaenoic acid [EPA]
and 115 mg docosahexaenoic acid [DHA] per capsule) and the other group
receiving a placebo. The fish oil group also received 200 mg of vitamin
E daily to compensate for the oxidative effect of the fish oil. Each group
included 15 well-nourished and 15 malnourished patients. None of the well-nourished
patients suffered from cancer cachexia (abnormally low weight and general
weakness). The researchers measured the level of T cells, natural killer
cells, and the synthesis of interleukin and tumor necrosis factor before
the start of the supplementation and on day 40 of the trial. The study
followed all patients until they died. Malnourished patients were found
to have a considerably impaired immune function and a decreased production
of tumor necrosis factor; both parameters were restored through fish oil
supplementation. Malnourished patients overall had a much shorter survival
time than well-nourished ones (mean of 213 days versus 481 days). Both
malnourished and well-nourished patients who received fish oil and vitamin
E survived significantly longer than did patients on placebo. The researchers
speculate that fish oils exert their beneficial effect by decreasing the
body's production of prostaglandin E2 which is believed to play an important
role in the initiation and progression of cancer. They conclude that supplementation
with dietary omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, specifically fish oils
with an antioxidant such as vitamin E may offer significant palliative
support to cancer patients with end stage metastatic disease. Gogos,

Grape Cure
In the 1920s, Johanna Brandt of South Africa said she cured her stomach
cancer with what she called The Grape Cure. A few years later, she wrote
a fascinating book that revealed the specifics of the natural method she
used on her body.
In his book, A System of Physiologic Therapeutics (Philadelphia: Blakiston's,
1901), Dr. Solomon Solis Cohen, A.M., M.D. shows that there were over a

fighting nutrients become deadly when combined with chlorinated tap water
There is a perception among many people that bottled water is somehow more
healthy or pure than water from their tap. This is simply an illusion of
marketing. A four-year study by the National Resources Defense Council
(NRDC), released in 1999, found that one-fifth of the sampled bottled waters
contained known neurotoxins and carcinogens such as styrene, toluene and

The bitter melon plant has been used in China as a treatment for diabetes,
tumors,
and immune disorders. In Asia and in the U.S., there has been community
interest in the use of the plant as an alternative therapy for AIDS. Extracts
from the whole fruit have been shown to have anti-cancer properties in
mice. The authors of this study suggest that the anti-cancer properties
may be due in part to an enhancement of immune function induced by the

if the Cure is Also a Cause?
The International Agency for Research on Cancer -- part of the World
Health Organization -- lists nine chemotherapy drugs and two "combinational
therapies" as known human carcinogens. Another nine drugs are listed as
"probable" and 10 as "possible" carcinogens. Chemotherapy -- the use of
potent drugs to kill cancerous cells -- is more than 60 years old. The
first such drugs were nitrogen mustards, originally developed as chemical
warfare agents. Modern chemotherapy drugs are so strong, by necessity,
that they can cause secondary cancers in patients; to a healthy person,
they're poison. For decades, experts say, most health care workers were
oblivious to the risks posed to them by these and other drugs, which attack
good cells as well as bad. By the 1970s, The National Institute for Occupational
Safety and Health (NIOSH) says in its alert, "the carcinogenicity of several
[chemotherapy] drugs in animals was well established. Likewise, a number
of researchers during this period linked the therapeutic use of [certain
drugs] in humans to subsequent leukemia and other cancers. Many in health
care began to question whether occupational exposure to these agents was
hazardous." Last March, the federal government issued an unusually detailed
alert to the nation's 5.5 million health care workers: The powerful drugs
used in chemotherapy can themselves cause cancer and pose a risk to nurses,
pharmacists and others who handle them. A housekeeper who dumps the contents
of a bedpan into a toilet might not realize that the waste is toxic. "Sometimes,
80 percent of the active ingredient [in a drug] goes right through the
patient's system," said Borwegen, who also served on the NIOSH work group.
