The Bitter Truth about Artificial Sweeteners
Artificial sweeteners are marketed with the promise of weight control, and
the vast majority of people who consume them do so to either lose or avoid gaining
weight. Folks, this is a fraud of gigantic proportions. Since aspartame came
on the market in l981, it has accounted for more than 75 percent of the complaints
reported in the FDA's Adverse Reaction Monitoring system. the most common adverse
reactions attributed to aspartame
are headaches, dizziness, attention difficulties, memory loss, slurred speech
and vision problems. this cluster of symptoms has become so common that it is
actually referred to as "aspartame disease".
Even more serious disorders have a suspected link with aspartame. Is it an
accident that the incidence of brain tumors has increased by 10% since 1975?
John W. Olney, MD, of the Washington University Medical School in St. Louis
believes there may be a link between the two. In an article published in The
Journal of Neuropathology and Experimental Neurology, he notes that animal studies
reveal high levels of brain tumors in aspartame-fed rats. According to Dr. Olney,
recent findings show that aspartame has mutagenic, or cancer-causing potential,
and the sharp rise in malignant brain tumors coincides with the increased use
of aspartame.
The U.S. Navy and Air Force published articles in Navy Physiology and Flying
Safety with this warning: "...several researchers have found aspartame can increase
the frequency of seizures, or lower the stimulation necessary to induce them.
this means a pilot who drinks diet sodas is more susceptible to flicker vertigo,
or to flicker-induced epileptic activity. It also means that all pilots are
potential victims of sudden memory loss, dizziness during instrument flight,
and gradual loss of vision."
A 2005 study by the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio
showed that increased weight gain and obesity was associated with
increased use of diet soda in a population based study. Animal studies have
indicated that artificial sweeteners can cause body weight gain. A sweet taste
induces an insulin response, which causes blood sugar to be stored in tissues
(including fat), but because blood sugar does not increase with artificial sugars,
there is hypoglycemia and increased food intake the next time there is a meal.
After a while, rats given sweeteners have steadily increased calorie intake,
increased body weight, and increased adiposity (fatness).

Artificial sweetener Is toxic To dogs
The Wall Street Journal reports that sugarfree gum contains xylitol, an ingredient that
can cause man’s best friend to get very sick.
There appears to be a surge in the number of cases
of dogs becoming sick from Xylitol ingestion, the paper said: “We’ve seen a
dramatic increase,” Dr. Ahna Brutlag, a veterinary toxicologist, told the Journal
in an interview. In 2015, there have already been 2,800 calls to the Pet Poison
Helpline due to the sweetener being ingested by canines, up from 300 calls in 2009.
Xylitol is over 100 times more toxic to dogs than milk chocolate, according to the newspaper.
Pet parents are unaware of the danger lurking in cookies, peanut butter, or other products
with Xylitol. It is so deadly that within 30 minutes a dog can die from insulin shock or liver
failure. Krush Nutrition peanut butters contain Xylitol, and the company responsibly offers
a warning to dog owners on its website.
Dr. Janet Starr Hull - The testing of sucralose
reveals that it can cause up to 40 percent shrinkage of the thymus: a gland
that is the very foundation of our immune system. Sucralose also causes swelling
of the liver and kidneys, and CALCIFICATION of the kidney. Note: if you experience
kidney pain, cramping, or an irritated bladder after using sucralose in Splenda,
stop use immediately.
H. J. Roberts, M.D - "I have observed severe intellectual deterioration
associated with the use of aspartame products. It was usually manifest as great
difficulty in reading and writing, obvious problems with memory and grossly
impaired orientation to time, place and person. Many reactions to aspartame
were very serious including seizures and death. Other reactions reported included:
Headaches/Migraines, Dizziness, Joint Pain, Nausea, Numbness, Muscle spasms,
Weight gain, Rashes, Depression, Fatigue, Irritability, Tachycardia, Insomnia,
Vision Loss, Hearing Loss, Heart palpitations, Breathing difficulties, Anxiety
attacks, Slurred Speech, Loss of taste, Tinnitus, and Vertigo Memory loss"
James Bowen, M.D. - "Lying and deceit on the artificial sweetener
issue has been the FDA's Modus Operandi ever since Donald Rumsfeld broke everything
decent in the US government to put Aspartame on the market as a "contract on
humanity". It has no commercial purpose other than a contract on humanity. Either
they have done but little testing of sucralose, or they are so afraid of what
the public would think of sucralose, and the government if the public but knew
what was going on, that they will not tell us! BECAUSE: we have been told nothing
about the extensive studies which would have to have been done if very reasonable,
and scientifically sound FDA rules had been followed."
- Coca Cola, Pepsi, Nutra Sweet Sued in California - 06 April 2004 -
Lawsuits were filed in three separate California courts against twelve companies who
either produce or use the artificial sweetener aspartame as a sugar substitute
in their products. The suits were filed in Shasta, Sonoma and Butte County, California.
- The
National Justice League filed a$350 Million Class Action lawsuit
on September 15, 2004 in San Francisco, California, Federal District Court
against Nutrasweet, Monsanto, The American Diabetes Association and Dr.
Robert H. Moser, former FDA Commissioner.
The FDA has received over 5,500 complaints against Aspartame (NutraSweet), which
was legalized amid controversy regarding the capacity of this substance to alter
brain hormone balances; some 9% of the complaints today involve serious neurological
effects, including seizures. A recent major study by UCLA researchers of 109
patent-drug advertisements found 81% to be "inaccurate, misleading and even
dangerous." A General Accounting Office report found that 51.5% of patent drugs
approved by the FDA between 1978 and 1986 had "serious post-approval risks"
not disclosed on originally-approved package inserts, including "heart failure,
myocardial infarction, anaphylaxis, respiratory depression, convulsions, seizures,
kidney and liver failure, severe blood disorders, birth defects and blindness"
What we have here is a case of yet more pro-aspartame propaganga being paraded
around as legitimate science. It’s really more of a junk science fraud fest
designed to prop up the aspartame industry a little longer even as new science
keeps coming out showing the chemical sweetener to be potentially quite dangerous
to health. For the Ajinomoto company to fund a review by paying money to an
industry-friendly consulting group that coincidentally happens to find aspartame
to be perfectly safe strains credibility to such a degree that only a fool would
put any weight in this announcement. It’s like the R.J. Reynolds company announcing
nicotine is not addictive, or Coca-Cola declaring that high fructose corn syrup
does not promote obesity.
Artificial Sweeteners Linked To Weight Gain
Researchers have laboratory evidence that the widespread use of no-calorie sweeteners
may actually make it harder for people to control their intake and body weight.
A Purdue University study released Sunday in the journal Behavioral Neuroscience
reported that rats on diets containing the artificial sweetener saccharin gained
more weight than rats given sugary food, casting doubt on the benefits of low-calorie sweeteners.
Aspartame Disease: An Ignored Epidemic
Dr. Roberts does an excellent job of summarizing the neurological and physiological
effects of chronic aspartame consumption using observations from his years of
medical practice as an internist as well as information obtained from other
physicians and from a detailed questionnaire he sent out to a large population
group. Aspartame is an artificial sweetener that is widely used in 'diet' soda
pop as well as chewing gum, instant iced tea, jello mixes, and other food products.
The weakest part of the book is probably where it attempts to identify possible
mechanisms for the neurological effects of Aspartame since research is still
in the early stages on WHY Aspartame has some of the negative neurological effects
that are observed.
Understandably, though, Dr. Roberts, feels compelled to attempt
to address that question and points to several possibilities including the toxicity
of aspartame metabolites such as methanol, the increased neurotoxicity of optical
stereoisomers produced during storage at elevated temperatures, phenylalanine
vulnerability of the 1 in 50 people who are recessive carriers of the gene for
PKU disease, artificial imbalanced consumption of amino acids, interaction with
neurotransmitter levels in the body, etc. Some of these are the objects of current
research projects but knowledge on pathways and mechanisms is still in the early
stage of discovery. Dr. Roberts clinical observations of aspartame-triggered
illness are excellent and speak to his experience and skill as a physician.
This book is required reading for anyone who is interested in the physical manifestations
of aspartame-caused illness.
One Woman's Astonishing Experiment With Aspartame
There is so much evidence showing aspartame to be a potentially deadly agent
that several prominent, well-educated doctors and even judges have written books
on the subject. Victoria Inness-Brown’s family was addicted to diet soda. After
researching the effects of aspartame, she strongly believed the artificial sweetener
might one day lead to their illness or even their early deaths. So she decided
to perform her own aspartame experiment -- with 108 rats for 2 years and 8 months.
Daily, she fed some of the rats the equivalent, for their body weight, of two-thirds
the aspartame contained in 8-oz of diet soda. Eleven of the females who took
aspartame -- 37 percent -- developed tumors, some of massive size.
Sold commercially under names like NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, Equal-Measure
and Canderel, aspartame can be found in more than 6,000 products, including:
- Diet sodas, juice drinks, and flavored waters
- Chewing gum
- Table-top sweeteners
- Diet and diabetic foods
- Breakfast cereals, such as Fiber One Fiber supplements, such as orange flavored Metamucil,
Jams and Sweets. It’s even found in vitamins, as well as prescription and over the-counter drugs
such as Alka Seltzer Plus, and some Tylenol medications.
Ralph Walton, M.D., Psychiatrist, Chairman of the Center for Behavioral
Medicine: "We have known for years that when aspartame is ingested with a carbohydrate
rich meal the usual physiologic increase in tryptophan is blocked, while brain
phenylalanine and tyrosine concentrations are increased. These changes in amino
acid blocked neurotransmitter precursors could, I believe, alter indoleamine/catechloamine
balance, and thus have a profound effect on mood and cognition....depressed
mood, anxiety, dizziness, panic attacks, nausea, irritability, impairment of
memory and concentration."
Children Are Especially At Risk
Dr. John Olney, founder of the neuroscience field called excitotoxicity, testified
on the damage of aspartame to the brains of children: "If a human infant or
child sustained hypothalamic damage from glutamate or aspartate, delayed sequelae
such as obesity and subtle disturbances in the neuroendocrine status of the
individual are the types of effects to be expected and it would not be until
adolescence or perhaps early adulthood that such effects would become evident."
Now we are plagued with the obesity epidemic he prophesied.
Dr. Olney warned of the damage that this product would do to the unborn and
to children. He said that the FDA acknowledged "aspartame had been shown to
induce brain damage in neonatal animals” but FDA dismissed the neurotoxicity
as irrelevant on grounds that the approved uses of aspartame don’t include feeding
it to newborn humans. Yet aspartame can be found in prescription and over-the-counter
pediatric drugs and in pediatric vitamins. Nursing babies receive this poison
from mothers who breastfeed. How gruesome! The recent plague of Attention Deficit
Disorder (ADD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), autism, and
birth defects manifest the neurologic devastations of aspartame. Supporting
this view, Dr. Louis Elsas, Emory Professor of Pediatrics and Genetics, testified
in a congressional hearing that aspartame is a teratogen (causes birth defects)
and a neurotoxin.
When the Miami Herald quoted the Calorie Control Council, a front group recommending
NutraSweet for women during pregnancy and those with liver disease and phenylketonuria,
renowned neurosurgeon Dr. Russell Blaylock wrote, “this is the most serious
breach of public trust in the history of this nation." The Feingold Association,
an organization of ADD people, says the term ADD first came into use around
1981, which curiously enough is when aspartame was approved. All of Drs. Roberts’
and Olney's prophecies have come to pass: the damage to the unborn and our children is horrific.
Meanwhile, NutraSweet’s manufacturer pumps its propaganda pushing this product
upon pregnant women and nursing mothers through, at best, an uninformed media.
Aspartame was Monsanto’s Cash Cow in thousands of foods, the queen of sweeteners.
Coca Cola displayed the NutraSweet swirl on Diet Coke. And little blue packets
of Equal adorned millions of tables in the Western world. Every day in every
way business got better and better. But the “NutraTanic” has hit an iceberg.
Excitotoxins: The Taste that Kills
Russell L. Blaylock MD, Neurosurgeon
Excitotoxins are substances added to foods and beverages that literally stimulates
neurons to death, causing brain damage of varying degrees. They can be found
in such ingredients as monosodium glutamate, aspartame (Nutrasweet®), cysteine,
hydrolyzed protein, and aspartic acid. Dr. Blaylock's book describes what excitotoxins
are, where they are found, and how they react in the body. Dr. Blaylock, a board-certified
neurosurgeon, presents the latest research findings to demonstrate how exposure
to excitotoxins will damage nerve cells in the brain. The use of aspartame,
hydrolyzed vegetable protein, and monosodium glutamate in prepared foods and
beverages continues to increase on a yearly basis. Dr. Blaylock clearly demonstrates
that the neurotoxic potential of excitotoxins such as MSG and aspartame is so
overwhelming that it can no longer be ignored.
In 'Health and Nutrition Secrets', Dr. Blaylock says: "So, in the
case of diet drinks in aluminum cans, the very toxic brain aluminum fluoride
compound co-exists with multiple toxins found in aspartame, thus creating the
most powerful government-approved toxic soup imaginable. With the strong association
between aluminum, excitotoxins, aluminum fluoride complexes and
Alzheimer's disease, it would be
completely irresponsible to encourage people to consume this toxic mixture.
Yet, this is done literally billions of times every year in advertising." In
the Gulf, these diet drinks sat on pallets as long as 8 weeks at a time, piled
high, in 120 degree temperatures.
Long-Term Damage
Aspartame (NutraSweet) appears to cause slow, silent damage in those unfortunate
enough to not have immediate reactions and a reason to avoid it. It may take
one year, five years, 10 years, or 40 years, but it seems to cause some reversible
and some irreversible changes in health over long-term use.
Dr Starr Hull - "In October 2002 the FDA approved Neotame, a modified
version of aspartame. Neotame may prove more troublesome than aspartame as it
is suspected of causing similar health problems, learning and behavioral problems
with more potency."
Neurotoxin: MSG and How it is Hidden in our Food and Vaccines
Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) has been used for many years as a flavor enhancer
for a variety of foods prepared at home, in restaurants, and by food processors.
FDA has studied adverse reaction reports and other data concerning MSG's safety
for many years. Ingestion of monosodium glutamate (MSG) is known to produce
a variety of adverse reactions. These reactions, although seemingly dissimilar,
are no more diverse than the reactions found as side effects of certain neurological drugs.
How the World's Most Popular Artificial Sweetener Is Killing Us
Millions of dieters using chemical sweeteners will be shocked by firefighter
Janet Starr Hull's story. Diagnosed with a deadly case of Grave's Disease after
she collapsed on the job, Hull was told she would die. Searching for the cause
of her illness, Hull discovered that the chemical sweetener aspartame found
in Nutrasweet was to blame.
After a personal illness caused by the artificial sweetener aspartame found
in NutraSweet/Equal, Hull exposes the hidden truths behind the dangers of this
popular sugar-substitute. Don't pick up another diet drink until you have read
her riveting story.
Her book details how the FDA first determined that aspartame was unsafe for
humans, then later reversed itself. She obtained documents revealing the chemicals
that constitute aspartame and how those chemicals behave in the human body.
Sweet Poison is a must-read for anyone consuming food or drinks containing
aspartame. At the least, it will open your eyes to what you're putting in your
body. It might even save your life.
Sweet Misery: A Poisoned World
An industry case study of a food supply in crisis - After 7000 miles, and
25 hours of footage, "Sweet Misery" reveals one of the most pervasive, insidious
forms of corporate negligence in the history of the industrial revolution. The
toxic long-term effects of aspartame are often dismissed as a "hoax"
by the sweetener industry and at least five other Internet websites. The real
footwork, however, unravels something less comforting than a mere "Hoax." "Sweet
Misery" is a documentary just released by Sound and Fury Productions.
ASPARTAME (NutraSweet): IS IT SAFE?
by H.J. Roberts, M.D.
The truth about aspartame's toxicity is far different than what the NutraSweet
Company would have your readers believe. In February of 1994, the U.S. Department
of Health and Human Services released the listing of adverse reactions reported
to the FDA (DHHS 1994). Aspartame accounted for more than 75% of all adverse
reactions reported to the FDA's Adverse Reaction Monitoring System (ARMS). Many
reactions to aspartame were very serious including seizures and death. Other
reactions reported included: Headaches/Migraines Dizziness Joint Pain Nausea
Numbness Muscle spasms Weight gain Rashes Depression Fatigue Irritability Tachycardia
Insomnia Vision Loss Hearing Loss Heart palpitations Breathing difficulties
Anxiety attacks Slurred Speech Loss of taste Tinnitus Vertigo Memory loss.
H. J. Roberts, M.D., who declared Aspartame Disease to be a global
plague has now published a medical text titled Aspartame
Disease: An Ignored Epidemic. On page 506 he discusses the deterioration
of intelligence and learning skills in aspartame reactors, as evidenced by slippage
in school performance. He says "It may take a generation or longer to ascertain
the full extent of this problem." On Page 561 he discusses comparable problems
with memory among, younger aspartame reactors and how they have been attributed
to premature aging. He says this ties into the acceleration of Alzheimers Disease.
"The need for considering exposure to aspartame and other neurotoxins before
making a diagnosis of premature aging is paramount." . In an earlier book he
also discusses. Dr. Roberts said: "I have observed severe intellectual deterioration
associated with the use of aspartame products. It was usually manifest as great
difficulty in reading and writing, obvious problems with memory and grossly
impaired orientation to time, place and person. In some patients these features
cleared slowly after the avoidance of aspartame."
Aspartame - The World’s Best Ant Poison
Already aware of aspartame's origins as a toxic chemical, a health-conscious
consumer with an ant problem emptied one packet of aspartame in the corner of
each of her bathrooms two years ago. The "sweet" solution worked brilliantly,
as she's seen no signs of carpenter ants crawling around for the past year.
Detoxifying from Aspartame Poison
Detoxification is a normal body process of eliminating or neutralizing toxins
through the colon, liver, kidneys, lungs, lymph and skin.
Naturopaths who hold that illness can be healed by the natural processes of the body are
the most vigorous supporters of detoxification, since they believe that the
primary cause of disease is the accumulation of uneliminated wastes. When the
body's natural cleansing systems are no longer up to the task, proponents of
detoxification say everyone should detoxify at some point.
Dr. Ted H Spence, DDS, ND, PhD/DSc, MPH -"Detoxification comes in
many forms and refers to many different programs
that cleanse the body of toxins. Today, our environment is toxic and the foods
we eat, even the air we breathe and the water we drink is laden with chemicals
foreign to our system. Therefore, everyone is undergoing some type of detoxification
to maintain life and health. Although basic detoxification begins with diet,
detox programs may include nutritional fortification for the liver, lungs, kidneys,
bowels and blood. Detoxification for the body may refer to the cleansing of
the bowels, kidneys, lungs, the liver or the blood, since these are the organs
involved in detoxification of chemicals and toxins from the body. The liver
acts as an in-line filter for the removal of foreign substances and wastes from
the blood. The kidneys filter wastes from the blood into the urine, while the
lungs remove volatile gases as we breathe."
Parkinson Disease Related to Aspartame?
Actor Michael J. Fox, a victim of Parkinson's disease, announced
that he was quitting acting and was going to dedicate his efforts and energies
to finding a “cure” for the degenerative disease. Since that time, The Idaho
Observer has tried repeatedly to supply the Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF)
with medical proof that there is hope for Parkinson's victims. According to
Betty Martini, one of the world's leading authorities on aspartame and the toll
it has had on society in terms of human misery, “Michael Fox has also been a
Diet Pepsi spokesman and informants say he is addicted, drinking many a day.”
Diet Pepsi contains the FDA-approved artificial sweetener aspartame. Aspartame
is an extremely volatile substance that, under ordinary storage conditions,
breaks down quickly into methanol, a known neurotoxin. The methanol then breaks
down into formaldehyde. The FDA has never established a safe level of formaldehyde
that can be consumed by humans.
According to The Consumer's Dictionary of Medicines, formaldehyde is, “...a
highly reactive chemical that is damaging to the hereditary substances in the
cells of several animal species.” The aspartame that is used to sweeten Diet
Pepsi, NutraSweet, “...is a neurotoxin that triggers neurodegenerative diseases
and can precipitate Parkinson's,” Martini explained. Dr. James Bowen explained that the methyl
alcohol of aspartame is arranged in such a fashion that it is “500 to 5,000
times more active in producing toxicity” than the methyl alcohol that is commonly
found in alcoholic beverages. The path aspartame has taken to participate in
Fox's degeneration is very complex, yet supported by peer-reviewed science.
In essence, aspartame inhibits the body's ability to produce dopamine. Dopamine
is essential for the proper functioning of the brain which in turn controls
the body's many systems.
Dr. Bowen explained that Fox has apparently recognized his decreased capacity
to produce dopamine and has reportedly taken therapeutic levels of pharmaceutical
dopamine to combat his degenerative condition. According to Dr. Bowen, “The
use of aspartame completely defeats this therapeutic endeavor.” At the MJFF
website it is listed that one of the companies the foundation is funding for
Parkinson's research is Somerset Pharmaceuticals, the company that produces
Eldepryl, or selegeline hydrochloride. Eldepryl, another FDA-approved drug,
was found by the U.S. Pharmacological Conference to be contaminated with methamphetamine
and a publicly unidentified neurotoxin. - Excerpt from The Idaho Observer
Splenda® Is It Safe Or Not?
The truth is that Splenda is not natural and does not taste like sugar. The
sweetness of Splenda derives from a chlorocarbon chemical that contains three
atoms of chlorine in every one of its molecules. The manufacturer of this chlorinated
compound named it sucralose. The improper use of “ose” in the
name creates the illusion that sucralose is natural like sucrose which is the
precise name for table sugar.
Dr. Janet Starr Hull examines in detail, the entire process of manufacture of
Splenda® , the artificial sweetener being hailed as a safe alternative to natural
sugar. Studying even finer details of lesser known investigations conducted
to establish safety of this product, Dr. Hull comes to the conclusion that Splenda®
is not the perfect substitute for sugar as is made out to be. Dr. Hull painstakingly
details disturbing research findings that have been glossed over or conveniently
forgotten while trumpeting the goodness of sucralose. According to her the chemical
cocktail involved in reorganizing the structure of sugar to make it a viable
alternative for natural sugar could in fact do more harm than good.
The Potential Dangers of Sucralose (Splenda)
There's a new artificial sweetener on the block and it is already in a wide
range of products, some even sold in health food stores and manufactured by
nutritionally-oriented companies. The artificial sweetener sucralose, which
is sold under the name Splenda™, is one of the up-and-coming "next generation"
of high-intensity sugar substitutes. It is non-caloric and about 600 times sweeter
than sucrose (white table sugar), although it can vary from 320 tp 1,000 times
sweeter, depending on the food application. The white crystalline powder tastes
like a lot like sugar, but is more intense in its sweetness.
Research in animals has shown that sucralose can cause many problems in rats,
mice, and rabbits, such as:
- Shrunken thymus glands (up to 40% shrinkage)
- Enlarged liver and kidneys.
- Atrophy of lymph follicles in the spleen and thymus
- Increased cecal weight
- Reduced growth rate
- Decreased red blood cell count
- Hyperplasia of the pelvis
- Extension of the pregnancy period
- Aborted pregnancy
- Decreased fetal body weights and placental weights
- Diarrhea
Splenda is not splendid!
By James Bowen, M.D.
In a simple word you would just as soon have DDT in your food as Splenda,
because sucralose is a chlorocarbon. The chlorocarbons have long been famous
for causing organ, genetic, and reproductive damage. It should be no surprise,
therefore, that the testing of sucralose, even at less than the level demanded
by FDA rules, reveals that it has been shown to cause up to 40%shrinkage of
the thymus: A gland that is the very foundation of our immune system. It also
causes swelling of the liver and kidneys, and CALCIFICATION of the kidney.
Splenda Marketing Accused of False Advertising, Misleading Public
Many have questioned the accuracy of the marketing campaign for Splenda that
reads: "Splenda No Calorie Sweetener is made from sugar, so it tastes like sugar."
In fact, Johnson and Johnson's McNeil Nutritionals, maker of the artificial
no-calorie sweetener Splenda, has been slapped with a number of lawsuits accusing
the company of falsely advertising Splenda and deceiving buyers into believing
it is a natural product. Lawsuits have been filed by:
- Individuals (three state consumer class action suits)
- The Sugar Association
- Merisant Worldwide Inc, maker of low-calorie sweetener Equal
Note: In my diet I use raw unfiltered honey, maple syrup, date sugar
or palm sugar. (palm sugar is available in Asian stores and is delicious). These
natural sugars contain important minerals,
trace minerals and vitamins. - Shirley
Epidemic of Multiple Sclerosis and Systemic Lupus related to Aspartame
"I have spent several days lecturing at the WORLD ENVIRONMENTAL CONFERENCE
on ASPARTAME, marketed as 'NutraSweet', 'Equal', and 'Spoonful'. In the keynote
address by the EPA, they announced that there was an epidemic of multiple sclerosis
and systemic lupus, and they did not understand what toxin was causing
this to be rampant across the United States. I explained that I was there to
lecture on exactly that subject.
When the temperature of Aspartame exceeds 86 degrees F, the wood alcohol
in ASPARTAME converts to formaldehyde and then to formic acid, which in turn
causes metabolic acidosis. (Formic acid is the poison found in the sting of
fire ants). The methanol toxicity mimics multiple sclerosis; thus people
were being diagnosed with having multiple sclerosis in error. The multiple sclerosis
is not a death sentence, where methanol toxicity is.
In the case of systemic lupus, we are finding it has become almost
as rampant as multiple sclerosis, especially in Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi drinkers.
Also, with methanol toxicity, the victims usually drink three to four 12 oz.
Cans of them per day, some even more. In the cases of systemic lupus,
which is triggered by ASPARTAME, the victim usually does not know that the aspartame
is the culprit . The victim continues its use, aggravating the lupus to such
a degree, that sometimes it becomes life threatening. When we get people off
the aspartame, those with systemic lupus usually become asymptomatic."
Major Media Attempting To Suppress Expose' on the Deadly Effects of Aspartame
"It's an old plot. We've seen it many times. A gigantic corporation contaminates
the community, spreading deadly toxins. People are sick, children die, but the
greedy poisoner remains undetected. At last a persistent reporter finds the
source. Now denials begin, authorities side with the polluters, against the
people. A smoke screen of propaganda and ridicule is raised so business and
dying can continue as usual. Some mainstream media too often dependent on advertising
from these corporations won't expose them, and would never allow a bright reporter
to tell the story. Monsanto, Coke and Pepsi have fat checkbooks, so will the
pride of true journalism in getting the facts to the people take a backseat
to exposing them in the NutraSweet issue?"
"There is the Bressler Report, the FDA audit of the horror of the original
studies that approved aspartame, the FDA's own report of 92 documented symptoms
from coma to death triggered by aspartame, the damning CDC investigation and
even the protest of the National Soft Drink Association, showing that Coke and
Pepsi knew aspartame breaks down into a witches brew of toxins at 86 degrees
before they ever put it in pop. They also knew it was not a diet product because
it is a drug that makes you crave carbohydrates (last page of report) and misrepresented
this to the public. If you want to get fat NutraSweet is where its at! I have
no sympathy for the MS Society because they have been sent information for years
including Dr. Roberts position paper MS or Aspartame Disease? and never uttered
a word to warn the victims. In Atlanta at their walk-a-thon while Mission Possible
gave out medical documentation on aspartame's ability to mimic MS and destroy
the central nervous system they gave out Diet Coke."
